NEW YORK -The owners of a New Jersey-based real estate development and brokerage company appreciated the beauty of Chinese New Year Splendor.
Sheryl and Bruce Mosely attended the performance on Saturday afternoon. The show was nearly full despite a negative article about the Splendor published in the New York Times recently.
Mrs. Mosely said the show was "just incredible."
"The feeling that you get here is so relaxing, so peaceful. You have a sense of peace," she said.
"It's just a pure, clean, beautiful experience, and it's so rare, because today in America everywhere you go, almost everything that you see, there's something negative to it, or something that's not totally for the whole family," she said.
She said the entire family could enjoy the Splendor.
"No matter what age group they're in … they can actually walk away and appreciate what they've experienced today. It's just a beautiful experience," she said.
"It's just an incredible experience. There's something about it. It's more than just dancers. It's more than just singers," she said.
She said there was a message that the performers were trying to convey.
"I hope that people are able and pick up on those … because I think it's something that should be kept alive."
"Something this beautiful should not be swept under the rug, to the side, really should be enjoyed by everyone," she said.
Mrs. Mosely seemed intrigued by the female performers.
"The women are very elegant and very soft and I'm not really sure if I have the words to describe their mannerisms, but it's something that I truly admire."
"It's just beautiful to see an entire stage filled with so many of these people, and there's wonderful spirits floating around. It's just awesome," she said.
She said her favorite performance was "The Risen Lotus Flower."
"The fact that the woman sacrificed herself to save the others, and then she was rewarded in Heaven -I'm sure that when she did it, she had no purpose in mind other than just preserving, saving her friends.
"And I thought that to give your life, to sacrifice your life for what you believe in, and to save others, to me that was totally amazing. That was the most heartfelt part that I witnessed so far. Everything was meaningful but that really said something."
Mr. Mosely added, "I'm just amazed by all the color and the art, and the pictures are just fascinating and exciting and beautiful ... I really loved the energy of the drums."
