The Chinese New Year Splendor took audience members to a land far away and enchanted them with magical scenes depicting China's glorious 5000-year old history.
Raúl González, restaurant owner, from Brooklyn brought his wife Rosario and several of his friends.
"Absolutely fantastic, the choreography and the dances are beautiful," said González.
González brought his long time friend José Javier Rumbao, who works in antique restoration and is currently visiting from Venezuela. He had high praises for the show.
"I am very glad that I came, the show is gorgeous," commented Rumbao.
Rumbao particularly enjoyed the touch of magic that the Splendor had to offer.
"It is very beautiful. There are many parts that I liked. I liked the mythological background, the Nymphs of the Sea were very interesting, and also the scene with the Buddhas on the lotus flowers," he said.
Rumbao was also very happy to see authentic Chinese culture and was glad to see that despite the damage it has suffered, it is still alive and its beauty has been preserved.
"Today China is a communist country, which has tried to wipe out the culture and the spiritual life. I was glad to see that not all Chinese people agree with that. There is no way that a show like that could be seen in China," he said. Raúl González also brought his friends Stefan Morgan and José Javier.
"I really liked the show, wonderful," said Morgan.
"This show is great, I hope it is shown all over the world," added Javier.
