NEW YORK -"As far as I've seen, it shows Chinese culture. They have beautiful costumes, and they're just nice people. It shows that, it was a very good thing," said Andrei Peck, Senior Associate with VDA, who had come to the Chinese New Year Splendor from New Jersey with his wife, Magda Peck.
"I admired their dedication, and it's just tremendous talent. The discipline, the hard work, it shows. It's amazing," commented Magda.
"I do believe that it shows the values of original Chinese culture... artistically, it's tremendously enjoyable," she said.
Andrei said that his favorite segments of the night's performance were "Nymphs of the Sea" and "Water Sleeves," although he mentioned that he thoroughly enjoyed the drum dances. "The 'Water Sleeves' -it was something that impressed me. The music and the act itself, it was fabulous! And the drummers were also very talented, and their dancing and hitting the drums -very nice," said Andrei.
Magda agreed, saying that her husband was speaking for both of them.
"I just enjoyed tremendously the way they moved, the smoothness of their moves. It's just like -I cannot really describe it. You have to see it."
"The show so far is splendid, it's marvelous," said Andrei, "Lots of talent and discipline, it shows the Chinese with their willingness and abilities out there. Splendid."
The Chinese New Year Splendor continues in New York through Saturday, Feb. 9.
