NEW YORK -The Divine Performing Arts Chinese New Year Splendor successfully concluded its 15-show series at Radio City Music Hall Saturday evening. Throughout its 11 days of performances celebrating the Chinese New Year, it received enthusiastic praise from audience members from all walks of life.
Food and nutrition student Etienne Tchitchui was among them.
"The show tonight was a very good experience," he said.
"It was my first opportunity to attend a Chinese New Year [show]. I haven't had an opportunity for this at home in Africa. I really enjoyed it, it was wonderful!"
Tanya Nogiewich found the show stirring.
"I thought it was beautiful. You get inspired," said the New Yorker, originally from Mexico, who currently works in management at Motorola.
"At the same time it was relaxing, and you get transported. All the stories were very good, very good."
She also mentioned the erhu performance by Mei Xuan. "I loved it," she said.
Brafulchanbrais is employed in the medical field. He attended the show with his wife Rehka who works as a supervisor in a hospital laboratory.
They called the show "wonderful."
"We are seeing it for the first time. Now we decided we can come every year with the big family -with friends and family. It's a beautiful show."

Noting that he loved the spiritual themes, Brafulchanbrais said he particularly enjoyed the story of two youth who wandered into a Buddhist temple to seek shelter from rain.
He added that he also liked the music.
"Beautiful. Everything is excellent," said Brafulchanbrais.
