NEW YORK -Among the audience members of the final show of the Chinese New Year Splendor at Radio City Music Hall was a Buddhist monk who particularly enjoyed the Chinese traditional values presented by the show.
"I appreciated the core message of all Buddhist and meditation practices: compassion, wisdom, and tolerance," said Thomas Colbin III, a Mahayana Buddhist monk.
Divine Performing Arts, the company organizing the Splendor, has made it its mission to present China's rich 5000-year history through its world-class shows around the globe.
"I always loved old-world Chinese culture. Not the newer one with all the communist stuff happening ... but the one that focused more on art and tradition," said Colbin.
Referring to the show's over-one-hundred performers and many performances, Colbin expressed respect for the work and training that went into creating the Splendor.
"They seemed that they must have been training for a long time to have been doing everything perfect. I wouldn't have been able to do that," said Colbin.
"The whole production was perfect."
The Divine Performing Arts international touring companies land next in Germany and Japan.
