NEW YORK -Darlene Schott says she has seen dance performances in China, but "nothing as beautiful as this."
Ms. Schott was at Chinese New Year Splendor on Saturday afternoon. She had traveled to China five years ago.
"I didn't see anything like this in China. But the scenery was very beautiful, that looked familiar," she said, referring to the large-scale digital backdrops.
She attended the show with her friend Theophia Williams from Washington, N.J.
Ms. Williams loved the dance with green fans called "Lightness and Grace."
"It was just a happy, happy show," she said
She said she would recommend this show to her friends but would have a hard time expressing how much she liked it.
"I wouldn't know how to explain it to them except that it's a beautiful show to see, a one of a kind, you will not see it again, anywhere else."
Both Ms. Williams and Ms. Schott are retired, and are fans of Chinese art.
"I've always liked Chinese art," Ms. Williams said.
Ms. Schott said she particularly liked Chinese embroidery work and Chinese furniture.
