NEW YORK -The Chinese New Year Splendor finished its 11-day run at Radio City Music Hall on the night of February 9.
Attending Saturday evening's show was Stephanie Temple, a school librarian.
After the show, Stephanie said, "The history of the Chinese culture goes so far back and the stories in the show are fascinating in every which way."
"It is fascinating how they tell the stories through dance and movement. It is poetry and it speaks to you not in words but in body movements," she said.
The Splendor, which is billed as a renaissance of China's ancient culture, has been a unique experience for many audience members.
Stephanie said, "It is wonderful that it is here because it is something that we do not normally see, even though we have a lot of Chinese culture and Chinese people in New York. You do not see this kind of thing."
Stephanie attended the show with her daughter Megan, who was also very pleased with what she saw at Radio City.
"Wow, it is really awesome. I have never seen Chinese dancing before. It is just so cool, so different. That is why it is really awesome."
"I actually used to take ballet and in ballet you would make those little steps. I find this to be more graceful than ballet," she said.
"My favorite is the 'Nymphs of the Sea' dance."
